Google does differentiate between domain TLDs .com and .co. For both the domains It depends on incoming links and the way you optimize the site. However .COM is highly trusted and .co is less popular (which doesn’t necessarily mean it will do worse in search engine ranking results but its unlikely to do better). It appears that .COM is the most preferable Domain Extension keeping SEO in mind.
