Choosing a Document Template
The web page libraries shown in Table1 are actually subtypes of the Document Library template.
To see all of the library subtypes:
1. Click Site Actions -> Create and then click Document Library under the Libraries heading. SharePoint displays the New library page.
2. Click the Document Template drop-down list. SharePoint displays the available templates as shown in Figure1.

Selecting a template in Figure1 creates a new, blank template file in the library’s Forms folder and associates the library with that document type. For example, choosing the Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet template creates a template.xlsx file in the Forms folder and associates the library with Excel 2007 as shown by the Edit menu (Figure 2).
