Backup in archive log mode

In archive log mode, backup can be taken while database is running.
To take backup of data file, follow these steps:
1. ALTER TABLESPACE name BEGIN BACKUP
2. Use OS commands to copy data file
3. ALTER TABLESPACE name END BACKUP
Data file headers don’t get updated until backup ends. Ideally, perform hot backup when there is less DML is occurring in the database.
