E-mail addresses that cannot be related to a User, Account, Contact, or Lead are called unresolved addresses. E-mail messages with such unresolved addresses appear as a red text with the Unresolved Address button. However, they can be matched to an existing record or a new record by performing the following steps:
1. Open the e-mail message.
2. Double-click the unresolved e-mail address.
3. If the e-mail address belongs to an existing User, Account, Contact, or Lead, then click the Resolve to an existing record button in the Resolve Address dialog box. Click the Lookup button to search for records.
4. If the e-mail address is not in the system then click the I Resolve to a new record button. Select a record type in I the Resolve Address dialog box and then click the Go button.
5. Complete the form, and then click the OK button to close the Resolve Address dialog box.
6. Click the OK button.
